What you need to know about wellness sessions

Since all of my wellness services have both physical and energetic effects, I kindly ask you to inform me of any health issues (present or past) when making an appointment.

In case of doubt, written approval from your doctor will be required, so please plan ahead.

1 - CONTRAINDICATIONS & PRECAUTIONS

1.1 - CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • After a very heavy meal and/or high alcohol consumption

  • Fever, bacterial or viral infection (cold, flu, or other)

  • Injury or illness: recent wound or scar, skin infection (contagious or not), fibroid or tumor, acute back pain or inflammatory disease, ligament or muscle injury, nausea or abdominal pain

  • Recent fractures or surgery: please be patient and wait at least three months

  • Pregnancy: it is strictly prohibited to massage a pregnant woman before the beginning of the second trimester of pregnancy, at 36 and 37 weeks of pregnancy, and during a multiple or high-risk pregnancy

1.2 - PRECAUTIONS

  • Circulatory disorders (varicose veins, thrombosis, phlebitis...): no tonic massage with pressure on the legs. Hot stone massage is also prohibited to avoid discomfort and swelling

  • Cardiac disorders: intensive massages, hot stones, and the use of tonic essential oils are strongly discouraged. I will recommend a relaxing massage instead

  • Arthritis and osteoporosis: no deep massage

  • Hemophilia, diabetes, cancer, AIDS, or epilepsy: only with written approval from your doctor; only they can assess the benefit/risk of a wellness massage. Often, only massage of the extremities (head, hands, and feet) will be authorized, and without essential oils

  • Pregnancy: for a standard pregnancy, the use of essential oils is prohibited. I do not work on the sacrum area, ankles, malleoli, or the fleshy part under the thumb of the hand, as these areas are reflex points directly connected to the uterus and may trigger labor. In general, massaging a pregnant woman requires specific care for which I have been trained

  • Breastfeeding or allergy to one or more essential oils: I will exclusively use a neutral vegetable oil

  • Physical therapy or osteopathic follow-up: it is important to inform your practitioner, space sessions at least 48 hours apart, and obtain their approval if possible, especially if the follow-up concerns the area to be massaged.

2 - POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

When energy begins to flow freely in the body after a wellness session, blockages are dissolved, accumulated waste is eliminated, and different signs may manifest:

  • Fatigue

  • Emotional release

  • Tears

  • More concentrated urine and/or stool

  • Increased sweating

  • Changed breath

  • Skin eruptions

  • Sensitive joints

  • Cramps, muscle soreness

  • ...

Sometimes the process can be intense, referred to as an elimination crisis.

Symptoms may intensify before being eliminated more or less durably, even permanently.

These manifestations are generally temporary and can last from a few hours to 3-4 days depending on the individual.

In some rarer cases, particularly during deep energy work or after a first session, these effects may last up to a week.

If symptoms persist beyond 7 days or intensify alarmingly, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional.

3 - BEST PRACTICES

It is strongly advised not to suppress the elimination process, but rather to promote it by:

  • Resting

  • Engaging in light physical activity (walking, for example)

  • Breathing fresh air (walks in nature)

  • Drinking plenty of water (avoid alcohol)

  • Eating lightly (especially vegetables and fiber)

  • Letting out and expressing your emotions.
